Accessibility Statement
Mission Home Help
Effective Date: May 20, 2026
Our Commitment
Mission Home Help is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about home care services, Medicaid benefits, and caregiver opportunities — regardless of ability or the technology they use.
We are working to make our website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Standards
Our website aims to meet the following WCAG 2.1 Level AA principles:
- Perceivable — Information and user interface components are presentable in ways users can perceive. This includes text alternatives for non-text content, captions for media, and sufficient color contrast.
- Operable — All functionality is accessible via keyboard, and users have enough time to read and use content. Navigation is consistent and users can easily locate content.
- Understandable — Information and the operation of the interface is clear. Text is readable, pages operate in predictable ways, and we help users avoid and correct mistakes.
- Robust — Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies, including screen readers.
Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy (H1–H3)
- Descriptive alt text on images
- Sufficient color contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA requirements
- Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators
- ARIA labels on interactive elements where appropriate
- Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting — animations are disabled for users who prefer reduced motion - Clear, plain-language content
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, some areas of our website may not yet fully meet this standard. We are actively working to identify and resolve any gaps. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know so we can address it promptly.
