Grooming

Toileting

Discreet, respectful help with toileting and incontinence care.

Eating and Feeding

Transferring

Safe assistance moving between bed, chair, wheelchair, and toilet.

Mobility Assistance

Walking support, ambulation, and safe movement throughout the home.

Medication Assistance

Reminders and physical help taking prescribed medications on schedule.

Home Support Tasks

Keeping the home clean, meals prepared, groceries stocked, and laundry done. These tasks make sure your loved one's home stays safe and comfortable.

Meal Preparation

Planning and cooking nutritious meals suited to dietary needs.

Shopping and Errands

Grocery shopping, pharmacy pickups, and essential errand assistance.

Laundry

Washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothing and linens.

Light Housekeeping

Maintaining a clean, safe living environment.

Specialized Care Tasks

Specialized care that goes beyond everyday help and requires extra training or a specialist's approval. This can include managing bowel programs, caring for catheters or leg bags, colostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, range-of-motion exercises, wound care, suctioning, and other specialized skin or feeding care. If your loved one needs this level of care, we'll walk you through what training is required.

Not Sure Which Tasks Apply?

The state determines which tasks get approved based on your loved one's needs. We walk you through the entire process from start to first paycheck.

How It Works

1Your loved one has Michigan Medicaid
2The state assesses their care needs
3You get paid up to $21/hr to provide care
4Your loved one stays home, cared for by family

Please note:Which tasks are approved and how many hours you receive are determined by the state based on your loved one's individual assessment. Listing a task on this page does not guarantee it will be authorized for every person. This site is operated by an enrolled Home Help agency and is not affiliated with or endorsed by MDHHS.
